She formerly worked as a clinical dietitian for the Veterans Administration, providing medical nutrition therapy for veterans with chronic disease. Wright was the president of the Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in 2013 and serves on the board of the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics. Wright is a graduate of Ohio State University. She earned a master’s degree from Case Western Reserve University and a doctorate from the University of South Florida.
