Growing in the New Year: Successful Business Strategies for Women

Being a woman in the workplace might feel overwhelming, a little intimidating, and like a bit of a juggling act. You're not only trying to work your way up the ladder, but also constantly balancing your home, mom and social life.

There's no denying women have come a long way from the discrimination and inequality they once experienced in the professional world. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, women occupy over 40 percent of the workplace. That's great... but it doesn't guarantee full equality. A 2012 study by the Institute for Women's Policy Research indicated the ratio of women's to men's median full-time earnings was 80.9 percent, a decline of more than one percentage point since 2011.

However, women continue to shine with success. Especially now with the New Year just behind, there is always room to improve and transform your business strategy.

What are some of the top business tips for successful women?

Sharon Lechter, CPA, discusses women's transforming roles in the business world and how you can incorporate effective business strategies in the New Year.
