  • Guest Bio: Dr. Heather A. Hausenblas, PhD, earned her Doctorate degree at The University of Western Ontario, Canada, and has served on the faculty of the University of Florida since 1998. She also is a faculty member at Jacksonville University in their College of Health Sciences.

    Acclaimed early in her career for her outstanding research, she has been honored with several awards and was recognized by the President of the International Olympic Committee for her research achievements in health behaviors.

    Dr. Hausenblas is the co-author of four scientific books; has published more than 80 scientific journal articles; and has been awarded several research grants to examine the psychological effects of physical activity across the lifespan and its relationship to "healthy aging."

    Additionally, Dr. Hausenblas is a principal investigator on two National Institutes of Health research grants longitudinally examining the effects of physical activity during motherhood. Her ultimate research goals are to identify and promote myriad opportunities that contribute to instilling healthy lifestyle practices for people in all stages of life.
