Helen Epstein, Professor of Public Health

Helen Epstein is Visiting Professor of Human Rights and Global Public Health at Bard College. She writes frequently for the New York Review of Books and other publications and is the author of three books, including Why Live: How Suicide Becomes and Epidemic (Columbia Global Reports 2025). She has also worked as a consultant for UNICEF, the World Bank, Human Rights Watch and other international organizations.
