A Triathlete Champion's Life Tips for Women

Life Lessons for Women from a World Champion Triathlete
Featured Speaker:
Chrissie Wellington, OBE

Chrissie Wellington OBE has tried to live a life that sparkles: her personal best life. In addition to being a carrot sorter, lifeguard, and shop assistant (in her teenage years) she is a former British professional triathlete and four-time Ironman Triathlon World Champion (2007, 2008, 2009, 2011). Chrissie is the first British athlete to win the Ironman Triathlon World Championship, and was undefeated in all thirteen of her races over the ironman distance.

Chrissie was awarded a first-class degree by the University of Birmingham (BsC Geography) in 1998 and a Distinction from the University of Manchester (MA Econ Development Studies) in 2000. Before elite sport, she lived her passion as a government adviser on sustainable development and managed development projects in Nepal. After she hung up her triathlon lycra, she spent 12 years as Head of Health and Wellbeing for parkrun, a charity that holds weekly community running, walking and volunteering events, with 11million global registrants and about 400,000 participants every weekend. She now channels her energy into being a freelance consultant and spokesperson on physical activity and public health. She also has an Intermediate Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Coaching.
