Kick Your Sugar Addiction

Once you get past your addiction, you can enjoy sugar because you simply enjoy it, not because you crave it.
You can get addicted to sugar, just as you can become addicted to drugs or alcohol.

It's not really surprising, given all of the added sugar in products today.

Food manufacturers learned that they needed to add sugar to processed food in order to make it taste good. And, since processed foods are much easier and simpler to prepare (and sometimes less expensive) than cooking from scratch, many individuals rely on them for that "quick fix."

According to guest, Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum, if you're asking "Do I have a sugar addiction?" the answer is probably YES.

With any addiction, it's difficult to go cold turkey. The key, says Dr. Teitelbaum, is not to completely deprive yourself. Rather, try to remove the added sugar as much as possible.

For example, get rid of sodas and switch to tea or coconut water. There are plenty of sugar-free options that are safe and non-chemically processed.

Once you get past your addiction, you can enjoy sugar because you enjoy it, not because you crave it.

Listen in as Dr. Teitelbaum discusses the four main types of addiction (adrenal fatigue, candida, menopause or man-o-pause, and sustained fatigue), as well as ways you can beat your sugar addiction and get on the path to a healthier you.
