What Should You Be Eating to Stay Healthy?

It seems like every day there's another headline highlighting foods you should be staying away from or how damaged America's food system is.

You may be trying desperately to keep up. You've changed your milk to non-dairy, incorporated supplements, avoided as much added sugar as you possibly can, and you've even said goodbye to gluten.

However, it's still not enough. This may make you wonder, what the heck should you be eating to actually be healthy?

This is a complicated question, and has even more complicated answers. What works for one person may not necessarily work the same way for you. For example, you may have a friend who has recently turned vegan and lost a ton of weight. Her success led you to try it, but you ended up gaining an extra five pounds.

In your case: vegan, fail.

You may also notice doctors, researchers and want to be know-it-alls are so quick to critique your (and other) food habits, but ultimately don't offer any solutions. Articles and commercials often tell you don't eat certain foods, but they don't suggest any of the types of foods you should be eating or other resources for you to utilize to eat healthier.

What are three tips to help you make better decisions to stay healthy?
  • Take a look at nutritional information
  • Portion control
  • Find what works for you and stick to it (juicing, smoothies, etc.)

Ray Doustdar joins Dr. Holly to discuss why trendy diets and fads don't work for everyone, as well as three tips to help you to stay healthy.
What Should You Be Eating to Stay Healthy?
Featuring:
Ray Doustdar, CEO Buiced INC
Ray Ray Doustdar is the CEO of BUICED Inc., and the creator of the all new BUICED Liquid Multivitamin, as well as the curator of Everyday Juicer, a website dedicated to helping people add fresh vegetable juicing to their daily lifestyle.

Through fresh vegetable juicing, Ray was able to bring down his cholesterol from 234 to 168 (down 28%) by incorporating juicing into his daily lifestyle.

During this time, he discovered that although the leafy greens are packed with phyto-nutrients, they lack many essential vitamins and minerals.

He tried taking vitamins in pill form after each juice, but they upset his stomach. Then Ray learned liquid vitamins are more readily available for easy absorption, so he decided to solve his own problem and created BUICED to "boost his juice."
