Do You Suffer from Hunger-Induced Anger?

This morning, like every morning, you're trying to find time to squeeze everything into your already hectic schedule.

Rushing around within the early hours of the day not only causes stress, but it can also make you forget to eat breakfast.

This leaves your stomach empty, your brain anxiously counting the hours until lunch, and your patience ticking away like a time bomb.

And... just like that, you snap. You've crossed over and now closely resemble the Incredible Hulk while lost in an ugly rage.

Do you find that when you skip meals you become irritable, angry, and start picking fights with ANYONE around you?

You are not alone.

This phenomenon has gotten so much attention lately that it even has it own slang word. "Hangry" (pronounced han-gree) is defined as a state of anger caused by a lack of food; hunger causing a negative change in emotional state.

Your body is programmed for survival. You nourish yourself with food for fuel and energy and when that nourishment isn't there, your body goes into survival mode by signaling out that it needs fuel. Your stomach might growl, you may experience cramping or pains, a headache might pop up and your temper suddenly needs to be kept on a very short leash. The longer you wait to eat, those signals will become exponentially stronger.

How can you help tame your hangry breakdowns?

Grab a snack and listen in -- your friends and family will be forever thankful -- as Sarah Corey discusses why hunger makes you angry, what your body is trying to tell you and how you can stop this vicious cycle.
