- Guest Bio A. Lynn Millar is a professor of Physical Therapy at Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem, NC. She completed her MS and PhD at Arizona State University (1979 and 1985, respectively), with an emphasis on Exercise Physiology and her MSPT at Andrews University in 1992. As a physical therapist she has consulted with numerous individuals regarding their osteoarthritis. In 2003 she authored a book, Action Plan for Arthritis, which was endorsed by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and has authored several book chapters related to arthritis since then. Other areas of research have addressed response to stretching and other types of exercise. Lynn has been active with the ACSM and served in many capacities for the Midwest ACSM. She participated in the Michigan Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association on the research committee and on the Board of Directors, and presented at the national level for several organizations.

He is credentialed by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as a Registered Dietitian and certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a Health Fitness Specialist. On November 1, 2005, Jim opened his first Jim White Fitness & Nutrition Studios on Shore Drive in Virginia Beach. He soon outgrew this studio and opened a larger one in November 2006 on Laskin Road followed by an additional location in 2009 off Great Neck Road, both in Virginia Beach. Jim and his team have helped hundreds of people lose thousands of pounds. He is currently the National Spokesman for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and has the reputation of being one of the top health professionals in the country.

Prior to serving as Deputy Editor, Anderson was the Fitness Director at FITNESS, a position she held since joining Meredith in 2008.
Prior to joining FITNESS, she was a Senior Fitness Editor for Self magazine, where she developed, assigned and edited feature and front-of-book articles on fitness; she also worked at Conde Nast Sports for Women, helping to launch the publication. In addition, she created and served as editor in chief of the health and fitness website GymAmerica.com, which was voted Best of Web by Forbes.com.
She has written fitness feature stories for such publications as Men’s Health, Glamour and InStyle and has appeared on numerous TV shows, including Today, Entertainment Tonight, NY1 and VH1’s 100 Most Wanted Bodies
