If you've made some weight loss goals, but find that you just aren't making progress, it may have nothing to do with the number of calories you're eating or how much time you spend on the treadmill.
Even though you know you need to "eat better" or "exercise more," putting those practices into place can be a challenge.
According to Dr. Julie Coffey, author of Living the Slim Life, your mindset is the biggest hurdle.
In order to succeed, you must first be very clear in your goals.
For example, "I don't want to be so heavy" is a very vague statement. Alternatively, "I want to look fabulous when I go to the beach on holiday with my friends" is very specific.
The next step is to put some stepping stones between where you are now and where you want to be.
These could be things like learning more about nutrition or discovering the most effective way to exercise. Plot out your weight loss like you would map a route to an unknown place.
Dr. Julie also advises that you write down your goals and accomplishments. Keeping a journal helps you connect to your goals more intimately.
Listen in as Dr. Julie joins Dr. Susanne to share more about the "mindful" approach to weight loss, as well as specific examples she's seen with her own patients.
