He earned an osteopathic medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed an internal medicine residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, New York. In addition, Dr. Gershenhorn completed a fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, New York, where he served as Chief Fellow in the Department of Hematology/Oncology.
