Dr. Friedman and Kim chew on fecal particles from restroom hand dryers, why texting makes you "stupid," and how watching TV can impact libido and fertility.
Poop Particles
Hand dryers in public restrooms may be spraying fecal particles onto your hands. A study showed that 18-30 colonies of bacteria get expelled, including the fecal matter. Fecal bacteria can also exist in your own home bathroom, including your toothbrush.
Dumbed-Down
Is texting making you stupid? Research shows that it diminishes your brain's linguistic ability to interpret and accept words. On the other hand, reading books and newspapers stimulates cognition.
TV & Infertility
According to a Harvard study, watching TV lowers sperm production and decreases libido. Men who view more than 20 hours weekly have a 44 percent lower sperm count than those who watch a minimal amount. These individuals are also more likely to eat fatty foods and exercise less.
